Day 28: Another Style

Today there was an introductory talk to the Chemistry Faculty for new German students. It was called "Fachrichtung Chemie und Lebensmittelchemie: Was, Wann, Wie, Wo" (Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry: What, When, How, Where). It was a presentation of the degree: its structure, what electives it has, which professors can help you... and of the course: exam dates, parties, where the practicals will be... It was given by professors from various departments and it was very good, because it gave an idea of what you were going to have ahead of you in the coming months and placed you a bit in the university. Therefore, although it was not aimed at Erasmus students, it was good for me to see how the degree works and especially the academic calendar. Well..., ahem, in reality, I didn't understand everything they said very well, I followed the PowerPoint a bit, and then, at home, I processed the photocopies with the presentation slides. However, even though I don't understand much of what they say, I see that here, the professors have a different style than in Spain. I really like their closeness and trust in the students. When dismissing the talk, they encouraged us to study, to give our best, and, while they were putting this drawing on the projector, to not give up.
