Day 359: End of Erasmus

I’ve listened to a bit of music: El aire de la calle by Los Delincuentes; Presente by Osvaldo; Salir by Extremoduro. They’re all songs that played at special moments this year. We turned Salir into our Erasmus anthem. On the train, I started recording with my camera as I left Dresden behind. Of course, a merciless ticket inspector ruined the moment.

Goodbye Dresden

Then I watched the video I recorded last night, on the tram, to remember the ride I used to take back home. Memories of Erasmus that always ended with that ride came flooding back, and it made me sad. When we made a scene sticking our heads out of the sunroof of a luxury BMW, the Spain match in Leipzig with my dad, the day we went ice skating and I surprisingly made it home unscathed… Two old men are making fun of my luggage. They ask me about it. I explain that I’m a student and today is my last day in Germany.

As I left Dresden, every corner reminded me of a moment, every building of an instant. I have so many memories… I know I have to go back to Spain. I’M SCARED. I’m scared of change, of what’s waiting for me, of going back to routine, of dealing with the credit transfers, of wondering if I’ll get a grant next year, of people having changed, of people having gotten used to my absence, of me having changed, of the heat, of Salamanca.
