Day 139: An icy break

I’ve been officially shut away for two weeks now because of end-of-term exams. Last night I went out for a bit (which ended up being longer than planned), but this morning, at 10, I was studying like a champ. Truth be told, I owe much of that to the persistent fellow who started banging on the door at 8 a.m. It was one of the Germans from that party the other time, who’d come to collect one of my flatmates to go off somewhere-or-other. Of course, once you open an eye, and with the daylight already streaming into the room, it’s very hard to get back to sleep.

By two o’clock, after four hours of studying, with such glorious weather outside and my head about to explode, I decided to take a break and go for a stroll along the river and the Brühlsche Terrace (one of the most beautiful promenades in Europe, they say) to take some photos, so you could all see the aftermath of this week’s cold snap in Dresden. The frozen water in the Zwinger Palace moats, the river dotted with icebergs… I also took a few nice shots of the city’s historic centre. Hope you like them.
